Nancy Perez, RDN has been a Registered Dietitian for six years, specializing in eating disorders and developmental disabilities. She’s passionate about helping people break free from the exhausting cycle of food guilt and rules, and instead find a way of eating that feels supportive, freeing, and doable in real life. With her mix of expertise and compassion, Nancy empowers her clients to move toward confidence and connection with food—one step at a time.
As a mom of two, Nancy knows exactly how tricky it can be to balance everyone else’s needs with your own. Between school drop-offs, family dinners, and all the beautiful chaos of parenting, she gets the real-life challenges that come with making health a priority. That’s why she’s such a champion for realistic, sustainable strategies that help people nourish their bodies without losing their sanity.
Micah Howard is a fourth-year Psychology student at Texas A&M University with a minor in Nutrition and a big passion for the intersection of mental and physical health. At The Well, she serves as Client Relations Specialist, making sure clients feel welcomed, supported, and cared for every step of the way.
Micah plans to pursue a career in clinical counseling with a focus on holistic approaches that integrate faith, mind, and body. She believes lasting health comes from building a strong mind-body connection through the lens of faith—and she’s eager to empower others to discover that balance for themselves.
When she’s not studying or connecting with clients, you’ll usually find Micah serving on overseas mission trips, where she has witnessed the goodness of God in powerful and life-changing ways.
Valerie Gately, RDN is a registered dietitian and proud UNM graduate with a passion for proactive health. She believes food should be both functional and enjoyable—because what’s the point of kale if it doesn’t make you feel good, right? Valerie helps her clients find that sweet spot where food fuels performance, supports long-term health, and still brings joy to the table.
Her career has taken her across a wide spectrum of nutrition care—from helping people manage chronic disease to working with Division I athletes at the top of their game. No matter who she’s supporting, Valerie brings energy, encouragement, and the belief that every client can tackle (and crush) their nutrition goals.
Outside of her professional work, Valerie is soaking up the new adventure of motherhood with her baby daughter. She also loves staying active, cheering on athletes, and finding balance between fueling her career, her family, and herself.
Dr. Erica Castleberry is a licensed psychologist with a PhD in Counseling Psychology from the University of Houston. With expertise in anxiety disorders, OCD, eating disorders, body image concerns, depression, and life transitions, she blends evidence-based approaches like Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, mindfulness, and Dialectical Behavior Therapy with deep compassion and practicality.
Erica is especially passionate about helping people embrace self-acceptance and recognize the powerful role exercise can play in supporting mental health. She believes food, movement, and mindset aren’t meant to be at odds—they can absolutely coexist in a way that feels balanced and life-giving.
When she’s not in session, Erica loves writing, running, and weaving together new ideas—and she and Jess are currently co-authoring a book that brings together their shared expertise in psychology and nutrition. Her work reflects her belief that healing isn’t just possible, it can be transformative—and even joyful.
Marena Pacheco, MS, RDN has been a Registered Dietitian for 15 years, holding a master’s degree in nutrition. With extensive experience in clinical nutrition, hormone balance, menu planning, and disordered eating, she brings both depth and compassion to her work.
She has a special passion for hormone balance, helping clients connect the dots between what they eat and how they feel. Marena loves showing women how supporting their hormones can make a powerful difference in energy, mood, and overall health, and she brings a practical, encouraging approach to a topic that can often feel overwhelming.
Outside of her professional life, Marena loves taking bougie vacations with hubby and son and making memories that are just as rich and satisfying as the meals she plans.
As the owner of The Well, I mix my Registered Dietitian know-how with a whole lot of real life—coffee in hand, dogs underfoot, and two wild boys keeping me on my toes. My mission? To help you hop off the diet-to-anti-diet rollercoaster and finally find a way of eating that actually fuels your life (and doesn’t steal your joy).
At the heart of my work is helping you return to yourself—learning to tune into your body’s biofeedback, trusting its signals, and layering that wisdom with science. Because freedom with food isn’t found in another set of rules, it’s in reconnecting with you.
And when I’m not talking food freedom, you’ll find me camping with my crew, plotting the next adventure, or savoring a good cup of coffee—because life’s too short not to enjoy the simple stuff.
